In 2011, Freddie teamed up with several other Yale students to form Lux Improvitas, Yale's first and only improvised play company. What began as a playground for players without teams became a professional touring company that pushes the limits of long-form improv.
During Freddie's tenure as Artistic Director (2014-15), "Lux" held bi-weekly performances, expanded its community outreach by participating in the White House's "It's On Us Campaign", and led workshops for high school students. Seeking to uphold Lux's mission of providing a playing space for players without one, Freddie co-founded the Lux+ program, in which each year interested students are invited to join an ensemble sponsored and coached by Lux. The first of these teams, "The Quarks", will soon write and produce comedic videos on YouTube.
